✦ Today if any man is asked – “Who are you?” then he immediately introduces himself by his body’s name, occupation, position, caste, religion, country etc. But this is the identity acquired after birth. (Acquired Personality).

✦Only spirituality means reality of spirit ( Soul  Atma + study) gives us this knowledge. Just as energy (electricity) is required to run a device, similarly energy in the form of soul is required to run the body.

✦ It is the soul that says I and not the body, I am the soul and this is my body.

The word ‘I’ points towards the soul and ‘My’ points towards the body. We say my body, my hands, this proves that the soul saying my words is different.

✦ The relation between soul and body is like that of a driver and a motor. Just as the driver sits in the motor and drives it, the soul operates it by staying in the body and has a separate existence from the body.

✦ In the Gita, soul and body are described as

Purusha + Prakriti

Rath + Rathi

Kshetra + Kshetragya

✦ Man is called Human being i.e.

Human (soil ,body) + being (soul).

I + MY : I am soul + my body

Body Structure 5 Gross Elements

It is made of water, air, fire, earth and sky.

The Soul Is Made Up Of 7 Subtle Elements

Purity, love, peace, happiness, knowledge, joy and power.

The 3 Main Parts Of The soul

Are As follows:

Mind – Intellect – Sanskar

✦ ✦ The soul is a subtle point of light, no physical power can affect it. Just like the body has Karmendriyas (organ of action), similarly the soul also has three subtle senses, mind, intellect and sanskars.

Just like an atom has subtle Electron, Neutron and Proton, similarly the soul has subtle mind, intellect and sanskars.

■ Just as Electric Energy is the source of physical energy, in the same way Eternal Energy (soul) is the source of Spiritual Energy.

■ Just as Electric Energy is the source of physical energy, similarly Eternal Energy (soul) is the source of Spiritual Energy.

Electric Energy has three powers.

1) Magnetic power

2) Vibration power

3) Radiation power

Similarly, soul also has these three powers. We attract the one towards whom we make a resolution, resolutions reach him through waves, by concentrating the resolutions through radiation power, we can change the mood of that person, we can also cure his illness.

– Mind –

✦ Mind – This is the thinking power of the soul. The soul thinks through the power of the mind. The speed of the mind is faster than the speed of sound.

There is a difference between mind and heart because heart is the physical part of the body which maintains blood circulation but mind is the power of the soul.

– Intellect –

✦ Intellect – This is the reasoning and discerning power of the soul. Its function is to understand, take decisions, reason.

There is a difference between intellect and brain because brain is the control room of the body but intellect is the deciding power of the soul.

– Sanskar –

✦ Sanskar:- It is the effect of the deeds done by the soul which the soul takes with it to the next birth. On the basis of this, resolutions arise in the mind. Soul is a point of light filled with light and power. It resides in the centre of the forehead (bhrakuti)

✦ Example about Sanskar

The sanskar of two identical twins is also not the same. They get the same environment in the womb. Their nutrition is also from the same placenta. They have to be brought up in the same way at home. Even then why are their sanskars different?

Because they bring their sanskars of the previous birth with them.

✦ Sanskars are mainly of five types.

1. Anadi Sanskar: Original sanskar of the soul, purity, love, peace, happiness, joy, knowledge and power.

2. Aadi Sanskar: Filled with divine qualities

3. Sanskars of previous birth

4. Family Sanskars (Genetical)

5. Sanskars of determination through company and environment (Will power)

Main Parts Of The Body

✦ The description of the main parts of the body is as follows. The main 5 parts of the body are:-

Eyes, nose, ears, mouth, hands and feet. Through which we see, hear,  speak, eat, do work, etc.

I am not the eyes, ears and mouth, I am the soul that sees through the eyes, hears through the ears and speaks through the mouth and is the master of all these.

✦ For example:-

Just like there is a small chip in a mobile, everything is contained in it, you can fill it as much as you want. We can fill a lot in it…

Photos, songs, audio, video

Other files and important documents..

And we can see and listen to it whenever we want.

Similarly, the chip that runs our body is called soul.

Just as the capacity of every chip is different, similarly the part of every soul is different and every soul takes a maximum of 84 and a minimum of 1 birth.

✦ Even if the mobile gets damaged, the contents of the chip remain in it and if the chip is removed and inserted in another mobile, then everything that is already in the chip can be seen and heard again.

By the way, when the body is left, the soul comes out of it and takes another birth.

✦ Proving the soul is like the air you are breathing, and you have to prove that it is air, whereas it is not visible but can be felt.

Similarly, the soul is not visible but if you observe as a witness, you feel that the power that runs this body is the soul.

✦ Just as the body is made up of 5 elements, thirst is felt due to lack of water, ghee, oil or any other liquid cannot replace water, breathing stops due to lack of oxygen, ethane, methane gas cannot replace it, hunger is felt due to lack of earth element…etc.

This proves that the object which is made up of certain substances or components, demands the same substances or components to fulfil its needs.

✦ Similarly, when the soul starts lacking purity, love, peace, happiness, bliss, knowledge and power, it starts demanding them. This proves that the soul is made up of all those qualities, is composed of all those qualities.

✦✦Form Of The Soul✦✦

The soul is a very subtle divine point of light, so when a person leaves the body, a lamp (diya )  is lit, that is, a light is lit as a memento of the conscious light present in the body. That is why people say that the light of the life has gone. The soul is like a shining star. It is a beam of light. The form of the soul has been described in different religious texts as well. Let us discuss about it:-

✦ ✦ It is said in Shvetashvatara Upanishad 5/9

“बालाग्रशत भागस्य  शतधाकल्पि तस्य च “

“Baalagrshat bhagasya shatadhakalpi tasya cha”

Meaning:- The upper part of the hair on a person’s head should be divided into 100 parts, then each part should be divided into 100 parts, then the measurement obtained is actually the size of the soul, that is, the size of the soul is very subtle.

✦ Mundakopanishad 3/1/9 says

“एषोणुरात्मा चेतसा वेदितव्य: “

“Eshonuratma Chetasa Veditavyah:”

Meaning:- The size of the soul is like an atom.

✦ Arya Samaji

Arya Samaji also consider the soul to be an atom, not the Supreme Being.

✦ Garuda Purana

According to Garuda Purana, the size of the soul is not bigger than the size of a thumb.

✦ Apart from this, in other scriptures and Puranas also, the soul has been explained in the form of the tiniest of lights which resides between the eyebrows in our body.

✦ Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

In Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, it has been said about the soul:-

“मन तु ज्योत स्वरूप है, अपना मूल पछांण ”

Man tu jyot swaroop hai, apna mool pachhaan

(P.441) Meaning:- Hey mind (representing the soul)! You are the form of light, recognize your origin.

Oh my mind, you are like the light of that God, that is, the nature of soul is just like a supreme light.

✦ Kabir Granth Sakhi

Kabir Granth Sakhi page number 58 Kabir Sahib Ji has considered the soul as the light of light. The body is a lamp and the soul is the wick. He said that

” मंदिर माँही झबूकति, दीवा कैसी ज्योति।
हंस बटाऊ चली गया ,काढ़ौ घर की ज्योति।”

Meaning:- Man is like a temple or a building which is lit by the soul in the form of light. When the light vanishes, darkness engulfs this building of light and the lifeless body is removed from the house like a useless object.

✦ Geeta

It is told in Geeta chapter 08/10 that because of the soul being situated in the eyebrow (Bhrukti) the consciousness of the yogis is concentrated in the eyebrow.

✦ In the 25th verse of the second chapter of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta it is said

“अव्यक्तोऽयमचिन्त्योऽयमविकार्योऽयमुच्यते।
तस्मादेवं विदित्वैनं नानुशोचितुमर्हसि।।”

Avyakto’yamchintyo’yamavikaryo’yamuchyate.

Tasmadevam viditvainam naanushochitumarhasi..

Means:- The soul is unthinkable and unseen, that is, it is a point of light. It is not omnipresent. Unthinkable means extremely subtle or inconceivable by the mind. It can only be a point. A point is good and also immortal or indestructible.

✦ Patanjali Yoga Darshan

It is also mentioned in Patanjali Yoga Darshan that there is an Agya Chakra situated in the middle of the eyebrows, which is considered to be the place of the soul. And it is also called the third eye. The third eye of the soul is the eye of knowledge and through meditation, the light in the form of the soul is seen in the middle of the eyebrows.

✦ Geometry Mathematics

✦ The nature of the soul is a point of light, so the point does not have any measurement, it is not considered to have any shape in geometry either. The point is neither considered rectangular, nor square, nor circular, nor does it have any other shape, rather according to geometry, it is correct to call it point of light.

✦ Medical Sciences

Medical sciences have also proved that the soul’s energy power resides in the brain between the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. And it is here that the soul is related to the cerebellum and the cerebrum and works and experiences through the motor nerves and sensory nerves.

Medical science calls it the Third Eye of Wisdom.

✦✦Where does the soul reside?? ✦✦

The soul is a conscious and indestructible point of light which resides in the human body in the  centre of the forehead. Just like a star shining in the night sky looks like a point, similarly the soul also looks like a star through divine vision. That is why it is said in a famous verse:

“भृकुटी में चमकता है एक अजब तारा, गरीबां नूं साहिबा लगदा ए प्यारा ”

✦ ✦ Some examples of this :- ✦ ✦

● In the temple, a tilak is applied on the forehead.

● Often Gurus also apply Tilak here.

● Women also apply Bindi here.

● In the church, holy water is sprinkled on the forehead here. And the cross is touched to the forehead.

● When a common man also says “Oh my fate” for his fate, then

Never keep hands on heart, keep hands on brain only.

● Even if you are in deep thought, keep your hands on brain to concentrate.

● Nowadays, the meditation which is taught, makes you concentrate on brain only.

✦ Some say that heart is the abode of soul:-

■ When many people are asked about where soul resides, they say that it is spread in the whole body or in heart.

So when someone has heart transplant, soul of one should come in the other but nothing like this happens. So this proves that soul does not reside in the whole body or in heart.

✦ Now which organ in the whole body is very important and which is such system without which life is impossible?

✦ Liver transplant is done. Liver cells have ability to regenerate.

✦ Man can live even on one kidney.

✦ If there is any problem in lungs, then they are put on mechanical ventilator. Lungs are also transplanted.

So now the brain remains, whose transplant has not happened to anyone till date and will not happen. No human can live without brain.

✦ Coma patients also live for many days because their brain and CNS work.

Scientific reasoning

■ Let us see what is the opinion of the existence of soul from the point of view of scientists?

✦ According to science, light things always remain on top. Many people say that soul resides in the heart, but heart is only the center of blood circulation, whereas soul controls the whole body through the brain. We see that the important organs of action of the body through which the soul works and experiences are around the brain.

✦ Max Planck

The great scientist of this world, Max Planck, told that there is only one point in the human body, where the rules of science do not apply, this point is the reason for the happiness and sorrow of man. It is just a point but it is a whole world in itself.

Why is the soul not visible to these eyes? Reason??

✦ Eyes are the very small pupils of a human being through which he sees this world.

Human eyes cannot see everything. Many signals, waves, ultraviolet rays, rays coming out of the remote, many waves cannot be seen, many vibrations like the rays coming out of the TV remote, many such rays which we cannot see with our eyes, only a very small part of them can be seen by our eyes.

So, we cannot see such a soul with these eyes.

• 1- The soul is very subtle.
• 2- We can see only objects made of these 5 elements with our eyes made of these 5 elements. Like a magnet made of gold can only attract gold, a magnet made of iron can only attract iron.

The soul is not made of these 5 elements. That is why it cannot be seen. Yes, if we want to see the soul, then it is possible by going beyond the consciousness of these 5 elements.

✦ Some intellectual scientists say that we cannot see the soul, it does not exist, but it is not necessary that we can see everything. Just like we cannot see the fragrance of a rose, it does not mean that it does not exist, but we can feel it, in the same way the soul cannot be seen, it can be felt.

✦ Carl Gustav Jung

Carl Gustav Jung, who was a good psychologist, said that this is not something that can be explained by taking a photograph of the soul with any device.

But a photograph of the subtle body (Aura) of a human being can be taken with a carnelian camera. The soul is present in the body which creates an Aura which we also call the body of light.

■ Srimadbhagavadgita

✦ Srimad Bhagavad Gita says about the soul:-

नैनं छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैन  छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैनं दहति पावकः।
न चैनं क्लेदयन्त्यापो न शोषयति मारुतः ।।23।।

Nainam Chhindanti Shastrani Nain Chhindanti Shastrani Nainam Daahati Pavakah.

Neither chainam kledayantyapo nor shoshayati marutah..23

Meaning: Weapons cannot cut this soul, fire cannot burn it, water cannot melt it and air cannot dry it.

✦ Verse:

वासांसि जीर्णानि यथा विहाय नवानि गृह्णाति नरो पराणि। शरीराणि विहाय जीर्णा- न्यन्यानि संयाति नवानि देही ।।

Vasansi jirnani yatha vihay navani grihnati naro parani. Shariraani vihay jirna- nyanyaani sanyati navani dehi.

Meaning: Just as one discards old clothes and adopts a new one, similarly the soul discards a dilapidated body and adopts a new body.

✦ The body is perishable every moment

शीर्यते इति शरीरम् ।।

We also remember the things of childhood. It is proved from the shloka that the body changes every moment, the epithelium becomes new. Then we remember through the mind power in the soul itself, this is also a proof.

Remembrance And Memory Of Previous Birth

✦ When a soul leaves one body, it takes another body, some child souls know about their past life, they have all the information about the past life, then on searching it is found that all the things are true, it has been scientifically proved, these things show that the soul is immortal and indestructible, which no one can destroy.

✦ Apart from this, we have seen many times Out of Body Experience when someone dies and after a while he comes back to life, then that person tells everyone that after coming out of the body, I saw this, then who saw this, the body had died. So the soul saw this.

✦ If it is proven that we take many births, then definitely we are not this body which is mortal. We are an indestructible power packed soul.

✦ To prove this, psychiatrists take the help of hypnotism in which the speed of the mind is slowed down so much and the patient is taken to the past birth, since everything is fed in the soul in the form of a chip, all the things of his past lives, then the patient starts remembering his past birth. When a person is taken to the past birth, we call it past life hypnotic regression, in the past birth he was in some other body and in a different place

✦ Scientists have named this theory as Arch-Or. According to this theory, our soul is much wider than the connection between neurons in the brain. In fact, it was formed from the same fibers from which the universe was formed. This soul existed since the birth of time.

✦ In India, it has been traditionally believed for centuries that the soul exists and it is also invoked during the Shraadh Paksha.

✦ Science means that principle of knowledge which discovers the inner power hidden in matter. Whereas religion is related to that principle of knowledge, which discovers the inner power hidden within consciousness.

✦ Today, there is a need for balance between religion and science. Science gives convenience, religion gives peace. Religion and science complement each other. Just as there is no conflict between body and soul, similarly there is no conflict between religion and science.

Science Is The Body Of Man And Religion Is His Soul.

✦Keep in mind that just as the body cannot be the master, similarly science also cannot be the master. If there is no religion in the age of science, then science will become the cause of death. Science, despite being very good, is an extreme, which is always dangerous. Religion can balance it and save humanity from its danger. Therefore, the time has come for the revival of religion in the whole world. Religiousness paves the way for man’s salvation. Science is outward-looking, while religion is inward-looking.

✦ There is a need to recognize the vast, not to search for it. There is a need to determine oneself as a soul. When there is self-determination, one attains powers, there is no need to search for powers.

✦ Science considers the brain to be the main indestructible organ that controls the body, but without the soul the brain cannot do anything. Without the soul the brain dies. Without the soul the brain cannot survive even for a second. If the brain was the main indestructible organ that controls the body, then science would have conquered death by now.

✦ Science has made a lot of material progress but it has not provided happiness, peace and bliss which are extremely needed today. It can be achieved only through spirituality.

✦Spirituality means the study of the soul. Just as an actor plays a role but he knows that he is not the person whose role he is playing. In the same way, the soul also plays different roles i.e. the role of an actor through the body on this world stage.

✦ Just as energy is required to run a device, in the same way power is required to run the body. Which is called the soul, a conscious, living, eternal entity.

✦ Raymond Moody has written a book based on true incidents, Life After Death. In which he has given many experiences of people who become alive after death. An American patient named John Lee started breathing after being declared dead. He has described his experience in this way:

✦ It felt like I am a white light in a black cave of five elements. After crossing this, I saw a world of white light and further red golden light. There was a beautiful luminous light, which was making me feel happy and peaceful. After a while, I heard that the karmic bonds of this body of yours have not been completed. Therefore, you are being sent back. And I came back to this body again.

✦ In this way, scientists have also clarified that the body and soul are different. The body is inert and the soul is conscious
